A Part Of You Passes With Your Mother Bookmark and Share Bookmark and Share

A Mother’s love is truly unquestionable. A Mother’s love for her child is special. It is a love that is born at birth and does not fade for eternity. A Mother’s relationship is quite personal. From conception we grow in our Mother’s womb. For 9 months we are as one with her. Therefore, it can truly be said, that we are a part of her. We are soul partners from the start. The bond between a Mother and her child should stand the test of time. We will not attempt to stereotype. Unfortunately there are situations in life that are not as would we like them to be. But for the vast amount of children, such as myself, our Mother was our moral foundation. Our healer of pain, both mental and physical, the gentle hand that guides us through life. A Mother gives so much of herself for her children. She shares your pain, from every scratch, to every heartbreak that you encounter. Her concern for your welfare does not lose its luster when you are grown. She will never be sustained from sleepless nights worrying about your condition. Therefore, it can certainly be expressed, that a part of you passes with your Mother.

When you lose your Mother, emptiness seems to embrace your heart and soul. Emptiness so vast that it can never again be filled. With the passing of your Mother your internal flame begins to diminish ever so slowly. You realize without hesitation that you have not just lost a Mother, but a life long guardian angel as well. Every Mother is different. Although their basic instinct is the same, their individual qualities form the bond that supports the family foundation.

When I lost my Mother, I was immediately confronted with the realization that I would never be able to hold a conversation with her again. My Mother and I had many great discussions over the years. Most of these chats surrounded her youth and the hardships of growing up during the great depression. Her stories instilled in me great pride and admiration. I will carry them in my heart and mind as long as blood streams through my veins. My Mothers faith was unrelenting until the last breath drifted from her body. She passed that faith onto us. My Mother was always there for me. She had a smile that could warm a soul and she had a special way of making you forget your problems with one simple embrace. There is not a day that goes by that I do not think of her. I will miss her for all the remaining days of my life.

It has been said that a Mother could be forever rewarded for a lifetime of loving support with one, “I love you” from her child. A Mothers gratification can be seen in her eyes as her children grow up and are successful in life. Mothers can never be shown enough appreciation to equal the support they have given in a lifetime. However, many people such as myself have expressed our undying appreciation of our Mothers in the form of poetry. This expression of our love helps to ease our loss. The sharing of our feelings and emotions with others who loved their Mothers just as much, allows us to give back a little of ourselves. You have the opportunity now to join us on a journey through words of appreciation for Mothers lost. Perhaps your soul will be touched. Perhaps a new bond will be formed, the mutual understanding that a part of you passes with your

Funerals: The End Of The Earthly Journey Bookmark and Share Bookmark and Share

Funerals do not make the best topic of conversation. Funerals and death are gloomy and underlined with sorrow and pain. Although as human beings we all know we are destined for the same ending here on earth it does not make it any easier to confront. It is bad enough that we have to worry about our own funeral but it is even harder to attend the funerals of those we love. Funerals are the last stop; the end of the journey. The funeral is a dreary event that gives you one last chance to pay your respects and say goodbye. Anyone who has participated in a funeral knows how hard it can be. The loved one you knew has departed and only the body remains. The finality of it all is heartfelt and sorrowing.

Some funerals are simple. Others are extravagant and grandiose. Many people complain that you can’t even afford to die anymore. The price of a funeral continues to rise just like anything else. Some have to keep it as simple as possible while others can go all out. I remember when my father died. I went to the funeral home with my mother. They passed us brochures as if we were shopping at a department store. They were kind and supportive but I will never forget how I felt that morning as we chose the products and services we wanted. It is funny how some moments like that stick with you and remain forever in the back of your mind.

I also remember when my mother passed away. I remember the funeral where we buried her beside our father. It was not a dreary day. It was not rainy nor was it cold and abrasive. Just the opposite it was a sunny day and I remember looking around the country cemetery and thinking how great the view was. The whole area was beautiful. These are the memories that feed our souls and seem to consume us. Many people find ways of transforming these memories into feelings. Often they do so in poetry. That is what I do. I find a certain satisfaction, a sense of relief in being able to express my emotions in the form of poetry. I do so in hopes that someone will read it and share the feelings that I have experienced. At poemvidz.com they go out of their way to share their poetry with you. You can explore the collection and no doubt find one that will touch you and take you back in time to a moment that relates to your own.

Check out the gallery of poetry here at poemvidz.com. Allow yourself to indulge in the emotion sharing process. There is nothing good about funerals but some of these memories can be instrumental in easing some of the pain.

The phrase ‘In Loving Memory’ is sad in itself. When you are put in a position where you have to remember someone than it means that person is no longer around. The process of life is so fragile. It seems that people we love are here one minute and then they are gone. The bottom line is this when we lose a loved one all we have to bring us solace is the memory that we store in the file folders of our mind. These memories are essential to the process of easing pain and relieving sorrow as we attempt to pick up our lives and trudge onward into the future. The process of healing takes time. Losing a loved one creates emptiness in your heart. The healing process is essential for the continuation of your daily life.

Part of the healing process is being able to share those memories that you have retained. It is very difficult to find a positive when you lose a loved one. However when you can hold them in Loving Memory it allows you to remember how they lived and how they touched you in so many ways. Looking back at these memories in life can bring tears there is no way to get around it. However as you begin to reflect on these times you will also find rejoice in the happy moments that you shared. It is a common notion that our time on earth is short in the true scheme of things. There is no better tribute you can pay a loved one than to hold them dear in your memory. As long as we remember them they will always live in our minds, hearts and souls.

As we compile the memories of our loved ones who have left us many feelings and emotions will rise to the surface. Once those memories have appeared quite often you search for an outlet to share them. Many people such as myself find that satisfaction by expressing our feeling and emotions in the form of poetry. The art of poetry has been a popular way of sharing our self with others since we first learned to write. Poetry has a way of transcending time and space. It has long been a method of touching the human spirit. Poetry can be so heartfelt when it comes from deep within the soul.

Unfortunately not everyone can write poetry. For this reason there are options to assist you. Poemsvidz.com offers a vivid collection of poetry that has been written for you to enjoy. Losing Those We Love Bookmark and Share Bookmark and Share

William Shakespeare wrote that parting was sweet sorrow. Rather or not it is sweet or not may be up for debate but the fact that it brings great sorrow cannot be denied. Losing those we love to the unavoidable circle of life creates a wound that never really heals. In many cases it leaves emptiness in your heart that remains with you for the rest of your life. It has been said that human beings are the only life on earth that knows that they will perish. This may be so but knowing that death is unavoidable does not make it any easier to deal with. To lose one that you love so dear drums up emotions that fill the heart with pain. To accept the realization that your relationship on earth with your loved one is over is very hard to bare.

Funerals are very sad. Funerals bring you to that final goodbye to that loved one. Funerals are supposed to be the final chapter in ones journey on earth but memories go on forever. Those heartfelt feelings that we have for those lost always linger. There is nothing good about having to say goodbye to a loved one. However, if you remember how they lived and keep them in your memory than you allow them to go on living in your mind. We can honor the memory of those who have passed in many different ways. We can do so by living our lives in a way that would have made them proud. There is nothing we can do to bring them back and they would not want us to simply give up.

Losing a loved one can be hard to understand. We expect to lose our grandparents, eventually our parents and older family and friends as well. The loss is especially hard when it comes unexpectedly to someone young. They say the good die young. That is not comforting at all. When you lose young siblings or parents lose young children it brings pain that is unbearable. When you lose a loved one there is too much pain and sorrow to deal with. So what do you do? You have to find a way to live with it. You have to find an outlet that will allow you to attempt to heal your emotions. Many down through time have shared their deepest emotions of loss in the form of poetry.

Although much of this poetry deals with sorrow and pain it also can be inspirational. When people find an outlet for their feelings it allows them to find relief and what comes out of that is a different point of view. You begin to remember how your loved one lived and all the great times you had together. You begin to write about how they touched you and the people around them. At poemvidz.com they are devoted to sharing poetry about funerals and loss of a loved one that inspire us to remember not only how our loved ones died but rather how they lived. Explore these poems and perhaps you will be touched by an experience very close to your own.

Memories Console Me Bookmark and Share Bookmark and Share

You have certainly heard the expression, that you don't know what you have until you lose it, well I can vouch for that now. Over the past few years, I have lost both my Mother and my Father. When you are young and growing up, your outlook on life is somewhat different. You feel so alive, that in your heart, you feel like you will live forever. In addition, you think your parents will always be there as well. Then one day, your bubble is burst, and you come to the realization, that no one lives forever. I come from a large family. My Mother and Father raised ten children on a very low budget. But we never went without. My parents did, but we did not. Their sacrifice was no different than any loving parents, but it was special none the less, and I will always appreciate all the lessons that they passed down to us. I will always be warmed by the love and attention they spread among us. Now that they have vanished from our existence, I am left with those memories of long years passed, and it is those memories, that console me in my time of sorrow.

My father drove truck for over four decades. He handled an eighteen wheeler with the ease of a master, dedicated to his craft. I was always amazed at his ability to maneuver such a large vehicle. I don't even do that well with my car. Dad was one of the last of his generation. He was tough and a little distant at times. He was not there just to be my friend, he was there to be my father. He took that responsibility seriously. I cannot help but look back and wonder much about my father and what he was really all about. I wish now that I had spent more time with him, talking to him about his thoughts and opinions. I know that he loved me. He didn't say it much, but he didn't have too. His actions always displayed it. I miss him with all my heart. I will always cherish the memories of trips I took with him on his truck. He opened up more to me on these journeys than at any other. I thank God for those memories now.

My Mother was very open with us. She was sustained by her faith in God and she was always the foundation of our family values. I would set for hours and talk to Mother about her childhood and memories she had from the Great Depression. Her parents too, had many children, but they survived a very rough time in history. As corny as it sounds, love does carry a family long distances and through times of great agony. I was the sibling that always related to all the rest. My ambition to write and my desire to always see the best in everyone, made me a family favorite. The night before my Mother passed away, she let me know that she was counting on me to hold the family together. She was counting on me. That meant a lot to me, I'll carry it with me always. In appreciation and in memory of my parents, I have written poems to better display my feelings. Many others have done the same, and you have the opportunity to explore them. Take a walk down memory lane with us and your heart and soul may be warmed by our memories and you may find solace in your own memories as well.

My Brother, I Have Not Forgotten You Bookmark and Share Bookmark and Share

Humans are the only life form on earth, that knows it will eventually cease to exist. We are burdened with this knowledge. We all die, it is the great circle of life. Of course, we all expect to grow old before we encounter that moment of departure. This, as we all know, is not always the case. You face the fact that you will most certainly lose your grandparents and parents as you progress through life. However, you never really stop to think, that you may lose a sibling, especially at a relatively young age. Those moments in life, when these shocks to our inner existence are put to the test, leave scars on our soul, that remain with us for the rest of our lives. Still, it is our obligation to ourselves, and to our lost loved ones, to carry on, to take advantage if you will, of the time we have been blessed with. The Greeks have an old saying, As long as you are remembered, you really never die. Well, My Brother, I have not forgotten you.

My Brother was older than me by 8 years. He had already been in the army for about that many years when I enlisted. I joined the army in September. We were all to return home over the holidays that year. I went home in December. My brother was to return on New Years Day. I was proud of my Brother. He had over come many obstacles to reach this point in his life. At 26, he had just gotten married and was planning to exit the army the next summer to begin a new life in the civilian world. Before all soldiers left the base for the holidays, they were given a warning. Be careful. Every Christmas soldiers leave for home, unfortunately, a few will not return due to holiday related accidents. At that moment it never dawned on me, that I would be affected by one of those holiday encounters. My Brother was a supervise in a army mess hall. On New Years Eve, he was on his way to work to prepare a New Years breakfast before he departed for home. He would never get there.

My Brother lost his life in a collision with a drunk driver. He was 26 years old. We received word on New Years Day. To say I was shocked, does not quite mirror my emotion. I did my best to be strong through the funeral, for my family and for my Brother. I gave a heart felt speech at his funeral and I saluted him as they carried him away. I watched my parents age so much, in just a few days. As my Mother had put it, you always expect to die before your children. I can imagine little in life, that would cause so much sorrow and pain. It has been almost 3 decades since I lost my Brother. I think about him, each and every day of my life. I mourn for what he could have accomplished and enjoyed. It was not to be. I, like many others, show our appreciation for loved ones lost, by writing poetry from our hearts and soul. You have the opportunity to share those poems with us. Perhaps, it will bring back a memory of someone you lost as well. Memories. We depend on them. My Brother, I have not forgotten you.
