Our entire world is defined by our relationships with those around us. Relationships are really bonds that are formed between one human being and another. Your ability to relate in today’s world is very important. Relationships are formed by communication. The effectiveness of a relationship is greatly dependant upon your ability to communicate. To form a strong relationship the lines of communication must always be open. The art of communication is not only established in speech but in our approaches and reactions. Relationships modified continually through constant interaction with those that we love. Relationships truly do define us as human beings that are compatible.
There are such a variety of relationships in our world. There are relationships between husbands and wives, fathers and sons, mothers and daughters, brothers and sisters and all of the in between. There are so many emotions between parents and their children. Depending on the situation in life these relationships can suffer through many strains. You have the parents who have lived their lives and learned by their mistakes and the children who know they can do better. In the end however these relationships are so special and always stand the test of time. It all begins with the examples set by the relationships between husbands and wives.
Husbands and wives must set the example for their children. Our children pick up on so much. We celebrate the love that is shared by husbands and wives. These relationships are the foundation for families in the world. Of course siblings form special relationships as well. Brothers and sisters around the world grow to depend on each other. The special relationships that are formed between two brothers or two sisters are full of emotion and feelings. There are so many special emotions in all of these sometimes complicated relationships and they form the bonds of our true success. They are the foundations of our growing society. They establish the essence of our lives.
With such a variety of emotions and feelings developed from many great relationships it is not a surprise that many people look for outlets to share those feelings. Many such as myself find that outlet in the form of poetry. The art of poetry has always been most sincere when it has been written about the emotions, feelings and the power of individual relationships. Our relationships feed such a frenzy of passion that poets cannot resist the opportunity to express themselves. Daughters write poems to their fathers and son write poems to their mothers. Boyfriends all over the world write poetry to the ones that they love. At poemvidz.com they deeply realize the importance of strong and happy relationships. They have compiled a vast selection of poetry about relationships that are available for you to share. Take a journey and share some of this poetry and perhaps you will find a poem that shares your views as well.

Relationships Are Complexity In Motion
By Will Curl

Relationships really are complexity in motion. Relationships are the bonds that bind us and allow us to seal our fates with those that we come to love and associate with. It goes without saying that relationships are born in many different forms. If you were to ask most people would think of a romantic endeavor when you mention the word relationship. However, there are numerous types of relationships. We have relationships with our parents and siblings, our friends and other relatives. Actually, a relationship is formed whenever we associate with another person regardless of the situation. How you respond in these individual relationships in the circle of life will inadvertently define you as a person. Your ability to communicate your feelings and to react to those of others will determine the outcome of your relationships.
It is an accepted fact that no two people in this world are the same. We are separated by our individual beliefs, our wants and desires and our likes and dislikes. We are individualized by our upbringing in society. Our molding as individuals is directly related to our surroundings. When you take all of these elements into consideration it is plain to see why no two people are exactly the same.
When a relationship is initially formed between two individuals a journey of sharing and adapting begins. These bonds grow in strength as more common ground is established. To strengthen these bonds in a relationship is often effortless, to maintain that strength during periods of indifference takes the utmost understanding and the will to compromise. The keys to any strong relationship are trust, respect and communication. When these elements are established than the essential building block of a relationship, the foundation is formed. The process of forming and sustaining a relationship can be very complex indeed.
In the end relationships are the salt of life. There will always be relationships that will end well and those that will go bad. The ability to savor the good relationships and to learn from the ones that leave us in sorrow are all part of the life experience. This is especially the case when you enter into a romantic relationship. The feelings shared, the heartfelt emotions that come into play and the compromise of heart and soul are elevated to a whole other level. In addition the relationship of romance fills our lives with excitement the hope for happiness that endures a lifetime. The romance bond is the most fulfilling. It seems to make our heart beat a little faster, our blood to pump a little harder. It is these romantic relationships that leave us with memories that transcend the existence of time. There is nothing wrong with being a romantic. Many romantics such as myself have written poetry to cover the passion, desire and overall emotion that is highlighted and enhanced in a romantic relationship. You have the opportunity to share these poems with us. We are even willing to customize them to meet your expectations. There is no better way to share your feelings with that special someone in your relationship.

A Special Sister
By Will Curl

Throughout your journey of life you develop an assortment of relationships with those who cross your path. The way in which we relate to those around us reflects directly on us as a people. There are really so many different kinds of relationships that it would be hard to name everyone. I am going to narrow it down to the immediate family relationship. Those special relationships that are formed and forever bonded with ones siblings. I come from a large family of 4 brothers and 3 sisters. I have a connection with all my siblings. Like my children, my siblings are each special to me in a different way. I love them all each and everyone.
In a family that large there are always a few brothers and sisters that everyone can relate too. I was one of those brothers. My sister Pam was one of those sisters. Pam and I have always been close. Like with all siblings there have been moments that have been tarnished with anger and frustration over the years but Pam and I have risen above those indiscretions only to be stronger for it. She has always been there, not only for me, but all of our brothers and sisters. Pam was blessed with a heart of gold. All of us have been blessed because of it. Pam is my little sister. I still remember that day so long ago when my parents first brought her home. I was but three years old but I can still remember her in the comfort of my Mothers arms. One day, many years later, it was Pam that would provide comfort for our Mother.
During turbulent times in my life Pam has offered me the shelter of her home. I have returned that favor when the occasion has risen. The strength of the bond formed between my sister and I have been tested through various heartfelt life events. You know when the bond is special because you know in your heart that you can turn to this person at any time for an ear to listen or a shoulder to cry on. Pam has been more than a just a sister, she has been my friend. A life spent together as children is but a memory now but I will cherish those memories for all the days of my life.
I will always be thankful to Pam for the comfort she offered my Mother during her last years on this earth. Our Father had passed away and left all of us, especially our Mother empty and forever changed. It was decided that Pam would take our Mother in to her home to provide proper care for her. Our Mother would live another 3 years. She would never overcome the pain in her heart from losing our Father. However, it was Pam’s comfort that allowed her to find some happiness in her final days. Now that both of our parents have gone we are drawn closer to one another. There comes a time in your life when you realize that the only thing that matters is family and the relationships that you have formed with them. I cherish the relationship that my special sister and I now share.

My Baby Brother
By Will Curl
Copyrights © 2008 - 2010 PoemVidz.com
I grew up in the small farming community in Northeastern Ohio. We were not rich by any means. Through hard work and faith our parents provided us a home that was always full of love and support. I had four brothers and 3 sisters. There was always someone around to play with and talk too. It has been over three decades since we breathed that Ohio air as a family. As I reflect back now I cannot help but feel they were some of the best years of my life. The bonds that we formed as children have not faltered but have been strengthened through many years of interaction. As I look back now some of those early relationships seem to jump out at me.
My father was a truck driver. It was the skill he knew and although he may have enjoyed it the job often took him away for days and weeks at a time. He gave up a great deal of time with us in order to provide for us. I realize now in my heart the sacrifice that he made. The youngest sibling in the family was mike. I was the middle child and mike was born when I was around fourteen years old. When mike was but a few years old our family had moved to Utah to be close to my Fathers Mother. Dad once again found himself on the road during mike’s essential growing years. By this time I was a High School student. I tried to be there for mike. A special bond was formed.
Over the next few years mike would grow very close to me and I to him. I tried to spoil him as I have since done with all my children. I did not spoil them with material things because it was impossible to do so. I spoiled him with attention, with love and support. In those days mike was almost like my own little boy. We were like peanut butter and jelly. We just fit together. I look back upon those years with pride and satisfaction. I was glad to be there for mike. It was never my goal to replace my Father because this would have been impossible. Over the years mike and Dad would form their own bond. I was just Dad’s relief pitcher.
It has been over three decades since those early bonding years. Mike has grown now and has a family of his own. I had joined the Army before mike had even started school. When I came out 5 years later I was married and with a daughter of my own. My feelings about mike have not changed. Those memories are still special to me. The pressures of life pull us in many directions. Mike has sought relief and answers where only sadness can prevail. I want mike to know that I am still there for him. I still love him and he will always be my baby brother. I seek the mike I once knew. Perhaps together we can find each other once again.

My Big Brother
By Will Curl
Copyrights © 2008 - 2010 PoemVidz.com
I grew up in a large family. I was the fourth of nine siblings. Within that family structure many different relationships were formed and foundations were cemented that have stood the test of time and are still strong till this day. In such a large family you find yourself bonding with everyone on a different level and for a variety of reasons. In a family this large there was a quarter of a century between the oldest and the youngest. It is obvious that the relationship is going to be different from a twenty five year age difference and say a two or three year difference. I, being the fourth found myself somewhere in the middle. This worked out pretty well for me. I got along with everyone.
My oldest brother is Dave. Dave is about ten years my senior. Dad was a truck driver and would sometimes be on the road for a week at a time. I always enjoyed sports. My Dad was not into sports a whole lot. When he finally got into town he did not feel like participating in too many sports activities. That’s where Dave came in. Dave had a love for sports as well. I believe that anything I was able to learn about sports in those early years came from Dave. He taught me how to throw a football and how to hold a baseball bat. I looked up to Dave. He had filled a gap in my life and I will always be grateful for it.
I remember one day in my young sports life that Dave played a major role to my success. I doubt if he remembers that day as well as I. Dave was always giving me advice on this and that. I always looked up to Dave. I never told him that. So when he gave me advice I tried to pay heed. The event that I am leading up to took place in West Point, Ohio when I was thirteen years old. I was playing Little League Baseball. I was getting ready to go in to bat. At the time it was the ‘hip thing’ to use an aluminum bat. We liked the noise it made when you hit the ball. Dave talked me into using the good old wooden bat. I was not convinced but I heeded Dave’s advice.
The bases were loaded and the game was tied when I walked up to the plate. I was one of the bigger players but I was not the best hitter. I had all the heart but I lacked some of the raw skills. I ended up hitting the ball over the center fielders head and driving in three runs. My Father and Mother were there to see it and I know they were proud. I would imagine that Dave was a little proud as well. It was the greatest organized sports moment of my young life.
That baseball moment occurred almost 35 years ago. My Mother and Father have since passed away leaving emptiness in all of us that cannot be filled. Over the years Dave has been there for all of us. Beneath his grumpy exterior exists a heart of gold. I have always looked up to my big brother and I always will. I know I don’t say it enough, but I love him and I am proud of him. He has raised three children on his own and still offered support for his siblings. Thanks for the memories Dave. Thanks for being my big brother.
